Learning to Use Social Media to Market my Business

Starting a business has been a fun and exciting experience.  I am learning new skills and really enjoying all that is involved in getting my business up and running.
The most difficult part has been marketing.  The world has changed and I have failed to keep up.  Social media marketing is something I know very little about, but I am confident I will be able to get up to speed and even enjoy this new technology.

An Idea is Born:
Having recently relocated due to my husband's career,  I was faced with the challenge of finding a job in this difficult economic environment.  Even more difficult, I was looking for a teaching position.   After sending out numerous resumes and teaching applications,  I did not even have an offer to substitute.
With lots of time to think,  I began to contemplate different opportunities that I might pursue.  I also, knew that the Lord is in control, if it were his will for me to teach that door would open no matter how bad the economy.  I began to pray for direction.  During this time, I ran across some books that I had written for my son.  Knowing how important reading is to a child's success in school,  I began to teach my son to read before he went to school.  I used to write simple stories for him using sight words that he knew and pictures that allowed him to get to the other words on the page.  Slowly, I would expand his vocabulary and at the same time teach him  letter sounds that he could use with context to predict unknown words.  I illustrated the books with hand drawn pictures and photos from magazines.  Reading through these books brought back many fond memories.
I believe because I was praying for direction, the Lord brought these ideas together for me.  I began to think others would enjoy these same type of books.  I could use their own photographs and write simple stories that their children would love to read.  Thus, an idea for a new business was born.
